Kennedy: Form down to hard work

Scunthorpe defender Callum Kennedy believes pure hard graft is behind the club's mini-revival in recent weeks.

The Iron climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time since late September when securing their fifth away win of the season at fellow strugglers Colchester, who they leapfrogged out of the bottom four at the weekend. "Really, the only spark has been hard work, obviously nobody wants to be down there fighting relegation so we've all been putting a little extra in training to do whatever we can to get out of it," the 24-year-old left-back told the club's official website. "I think really all we need to do is keep the work rate up, nobody wants this club to go down and we'll do everything we can to stay up. "We're all working hard and doing everything we can to keep the club in League One, avoid relegation then in the future push on. "It's been a nice little run. I think really we should have a couple more wins in that, but it's still three unbeaten. "Saturday is massive (at Carlisle) though, we need to win and obviously that'll be four."
