Scunthorpe United have signed Middlesbrough forward Luke Williams on loan for a month.

The 21-year-old, who has made 23 league appearances for Middlesbrough, will go straight into Mark Robins' squad for Saturday's home game against Notts County. "I was told that I'd be coming here earlier this week but I had a little niggle in my foot so I made sure that settled at Middlesbrough and it's now sorted so I'm ready to go," Williams told Scunthorpe's official website. "I had my first day of training (on Thursday), it was a smaller group because some of the lads were doing a cool down but it was good to just get amongst it and get involved. "It was a good session though, we had smaller-sided games where you get to see what you are going to be doing and I'm just looking forward to the weekend now." Williams, who can play on either wing or down the middle, will stay at Glanford Park until after the clash with Crawley on November 22. He scored two goals in seven appearances during a loan spell at Hartlepool last season.
