Beadle facing spell on sidelines

BRISTOL CITY striker Peter Beadle is facing a lengthy spell on sidelines with an injured ankle.

Beadle was stretchered off in the first half of Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy victory over QPR at Loftus Road.

X-rays showed no fracture but the hit-man's ankle is still very swollen and he could be out for several weeks.

Ashton Gate boss Danny Wilson is considering making a loan signing before Saturday's trip to Peterborough United, with Beadle joining fellow strikers Lee Peacock and Lee Matthews on the injured list.

The West Country outfit will look to keep the pressure on Division Two leaders Wigan Athletic and second-place Cardiff City - with a victory this weekend at London Road.
