Sorvel has been offered fresh terms by The Railwaymen and is mulling over extending his four-year stay at Gresty Road.
But while Gradi wants the midfielder to remain with the Second Division promotion-winners, there is a deadline for Sorvel to sign.
"We are still having communications with Neil and we are hoping he will sign next week but we have set him a time limit to put pen-to-paper," Gradi told the club's official website.
Gradi, though, has confirmed he has withdrawn the offers of contracts to Jack and Walton, who both rejected new deals with the club.
The Alex chief has ended any possibility of the duo performing a U-turn with striker Jack talking to Rushden & Diamonds and defender Walton being linked with Bristol City.
"We have had no contact whatsoever with Dave or Rodney since the end of the season and I think the time is now right for us to make other plans," added Gradi.
"We know that Rodney is currently in talks with Rushden and we expect him to sign for them.
"What's for certain, though, is he and Dave won't be signing for us."
