Gillingham have allowed Alan Pouton and Dean Beckwith to leave the Championship club on loan.Gillingham have allowed Alan Pouton and Dean Beckwith to leave the Championship club on loan.
Former Grimsby Town midfielder Pouton (pictured) has dropped a division to join League One side Hartlepool United for four weeks.
The Newcastle-born player has not figured much for Andy Hessenthaler's side this season and has decided on a return to the North East for a loan spell with Neale Cooper's side.
Beckwith, meanwhile, has joined Conference South club Margate on loan after failing to make a single appearance this season with The Gills.
Hessenthaler stressed the importance that his fringe players get more first team action away from the club.
"We have some players who have not seen enough first team action this season, so going out on loan will be beneficial to them," Hessenthaler told the club's official website.
Meanwhile, Bristol City player-manager Brian Tinnion has played down reports they are interested in signing Gills striker Darius Henderson.
The former Reading hit-man impressed the Ashton Gate boss with his brace against The Robins in his first match on loan for West Country rivals Swindon Town.
City are keen to find another front man this season and were linked with a move for Henderson after missing out on Port Vale striker Stephen Brooker this week.
Despite the links, Tinnion thinks it is unlikely that Henderson will be a target of the club.
"Henderson did look big and strong when he played against us, but reports we have received on him suggest he spends a fair amount of time in the treatment room," Tinnion told the club's official website.
"He's had a few injuries and we have other more likely options.
"I don't want to name the main targets for fear of alerting other clubs, but we are making inquiries."
