Cheltenham Town have completed the permanent signing of midfielder Scott Brown.
Cheltenham Town have completed the permanent signing of midfielder Scott Brown from Bristol City.
The former Everton man initially joined The Robins on loan earlier this month, with Brian Wilson heading in the opposite direction.
The 21-year-old's deal was with a view to a permanent arrangement, and Brown has now agreed to a two-and-a-half year contract with the Whaddon Road outfit.
Robins boss John Ward was pleased to secure the youngster's services this week.
"I'm very, very pleased to have signed Scott," Ward told the club's official website.
"He is a player that I have been interested in for some time and, in fact, we tried to sign him before he joined Bristol City.
"Like Steven Gillespie, we kept a close eye on his progress and I know that he is a good player, who at 21 years old, has a lot to offer."
Brown's arrival comes as Cheltenham defender Shane Duff has also signed a new two-and-a-half year contract with the Gloucestershire club.
The 24-year-old will remain at Whaddon Road until the summer of 2009, while young goalkeeper Will Puddy has been offered professional terms by Cheltenham.
