Barnsley manager Mark Robins will decide at the end of the season about signing on-loan duo Marlon Harewood and Paul McShane permanently.
Striker Harewood has impressed during a loan spell from Blackpool, while McShane has also caught the eye after joining from Hull City.
Republic of Ireland defender McShane has previously admitted that he would be tempted by the chance to move to Oakwell on a full-time basis in the summer.
Robins has yet to make a decision on either player, but has been delighted with the duo's impact for Barnsley.
"The main thing is that Marlon is enjoying himself and playing well," Robins told the Sheffield Star.
"Hopefully we've got him until the end of the season and then we'll see how the land lies. And that's the same for Paul. He's come in and done brilliantly."
