Smith stays on at Boundary Park

Oldham manager Lee Johnson has extended Korey Smith's loan from Premier League side Norwich until the end of the season.

Smith has impressed with his versatility in six appearances for Latics, operating largely in his favoured midfield position but also slotting in at right-back. Subject to Premier League and Football League approval, the 22-year-old will spend the final four games of the season at Boundary Park as Johnson's team fight to secure League One survival, Meanwhile, Oldham youngster Dan Taylor will not play again this term after damaging his medial knee ligament in training. Taylor signed following his release by Newcastle last summer and, although he has failed to nail down a regular first-team place, is the reserves' top scorer with nine goals in 13 competitive outings.
