Nottingham Forest have signed midfielder Liam Bridcutt from Leeds for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old has agreed a three-year deal and could make his debut against his former club at the City Ground on Saturday.

Bridcutt began his career as a youth player at Chelsea before moving to Brighton in 2010 where he helped the club win promotion from League One a year later.

He stayed at Brighton for three-and-a-half years before moving to Sunderland and then onto Leeds at the start of last season.

Bridcutt made 53 appearances for Leeds and captained the side 25 times last season as they finished seventh in the Championship.

Leeds head coach Thomas Christiansen praised his contribution saying: "He is a player that I like, especially for his attitude. He goes hard in training and has always given 100 per cent but we have a lot of players here who play in his position and this is why we have all made this decision."
