Peterborough United signed midfielder Danny Sonner to a two-year contract.Peterborough United manager Barry Fry ended his search for an experienced midfielder by signing former Nottingham Forest man Danny Sonner to a two-year contract.
The Northern Ireland international has been looking for a new club this summer after not receiving the offer a fresh contract from the City Ground club.
Following a trial with League Two side Kidderminster Harriers last month, Sonner decided his future lied with the London Road outfit.
Sonner will travel with Fry's squad to Colchester United for their League One clash on Saturday and the 32-year-old was pleased to sign with The Posh.
The midfielder claimed the manager and former Birmingham City team-mate Curtis Woodhouse were influential in his signing for Peterborough.
"I know Curtis from my days with Birmingham and I talk to him regularly," Sonner told the club's official website.
"He had nothing but good things to say about the club, the squad and the training ground and he helped me make a decision.
"Obviously, Barry is a very persuasive character too and he made me feel very welcome.
"I have to admit I am one or two weeks away from full fitness, but that will come and I can't wait to get started."
