Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson aims to return to action ahead of schedule.

Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson aims to return to action ahead of schedule.

The 24-year-old has played for just six minutes this season after hurting his knee during Forest's opening day win over Bradford City.

He damaged medial ligaments and was expected to be out of Colin Calderwood's plans until the Christmas period.

But Tyson has revealed he has made positive progress and could return to the League One table-toppers' team a month before his predicted comeback date.

"Things are moving quite quickly and I could be back earlier than expected," Tyson told the club's official website.

"It was predicted I would be out until December, but now it could be November, which would be a massive bonus for me.

"I've seen the doctor and he has told me I can do quite a lot more.

"If things continue to go well, I could be back in full training in four to five weeks."
