Salisbury City's fantastic run in the FA Cup ended at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.
The Conference South high-flyers battled all the way through to the second round and Forest needed a replay to progress.
Forest were the better side at The City Ground, but they squandered a number of chances before seeing off their visitors.
Junior Agogo and Nathan Tyson passed up good chances in the first half, but the pair combined for the crucial first goal on 53 minutes.
Agogo set Tyson free and his shot had enough power to go under Ryan Clarke and into the net.
Salisbury pushed forward in the final 20 minutes, but failed to create any clear-cut chances and Nicky Southall netted a goal on the break nine minutes from time as Forest set up a meeting with Charlton in round three.
Mark McCammon and Paul Heffernan were both on target as Doncaster saw off Mansfield to book a clash with Bolton.
Aldershot came from a goal down to get the better of Basingstoke.
Neville Roach fired Basingstoke ahead on four minutes, but Louie Soares scored twice before the break to turn the game around and a third from Darren Barnard on 51 minutes took Aldershot through.
Torquay caused an upset, as the League Two strugglers claimed a 2-1 win at Leyton Orient.
Jordan Robertson proved to be the hero, as his brace cancelled out a fine effort from James Walker to book a meeting with Southampton.
A header just past the hour from Richard Walker proved enough for Bristol Rovers to see off Bournemouth.
Bournemouth battled hard and had a goal disallowed in injury time, but Rovers prevailed.
Bury will entertain Ipswich in round three after overcoming Chester at The Deva Stadium.
Chester went ahead on three minutes through Laurence Wilson, but headers from Andy Bishop and Glynn Hurst gave Bury the lead and a late goal from Dwayne Mattis made the game safe.
An own goal in the second half of extra-time from Bradford's Nathan Doyle booked Millwall's passage into the third round.
