Nottingham Forest blew the chance to close the gap on leaders Scunthorpe United.

Nottingham Forest blew the chance to close the gap on leaders Scunthorpe United after slipping to a 1-0 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers.

The result boosted Doncaster's play-off hopes, while Blackpool also closed on the top six after a home win over lowly Bournemouth.

Brian Stock's 30-yard piledriver a minute before half-time settled the issue at The City Ground to leave Forest still 10 points behind Scunthorpe.

Blackpool took the lead at home to Bournemouth on 36 minutes when Adrian Forbes, despite being off balance, shot inside the spot.

The points were made safe on 54 minutes when Ben Burgess smashed home a volley at the far post.

Cheltenham Town gained a point in their battle for League One survival after coming from behind to draw 1-1 at Port Vale.

Malvin Kamara's shot bounced in off the post to put Vale ahead on 41 minutes before Michael Townsend levelled 20 minutes from time after pouncing on a loose ball in the box.
