The striker was on loan from Sheffield Wednesday and made an instant impression on Forest supporters.
The 27-year-old was the Owls top scorer last season and he immediately opened his account at Forest, scoring on his debut in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
He found the net twice more in the next match, the 5-2 thrashing of Derby, and has been rewarded with a two-and-a-half-year contract.
