Sky Sports sources understand Andy Reid has joined Blackpool from Sunderland.

Midfielder moves to Bloomfield Road until the end of the season

Sky Sports sources understand that Andy Reid has joined Blackpool from Sunderland until the end of the season after passing a medical. The move comes after a reported £1million fee was agreed for the midfielder and the deal could be viewed as potential cover for Charlie Adam, who is wanted by Liverpool and Aston Villa. Reid spent time at Sheffield United earlier in the season, but because his move to Bramall Lane was classed as an 'emergency loan' he is still allowed to play for a third club during the campaign. It emerged earlier on transfer deadline day that the Republic of Ireland international was undergoing a medical with Blackpool, who are also on the brink of signing Rangers striker James Beattie. Reid, 28, passed the assessment and it is now understood that he has agreed a six-month deal at Bloomfield Road.
