Oldham bag Edwards

Ronnie Moore has continued his rebuilding plans by signing Paul Edwards.

Oldham manager Ronnie Moore has continued his rebuilding plans by signing Blackpool midfielder Paul Edwards.

The midfielder was informed over the weekend that his contract would not be renewed by The Tangerines and Moore was quick to step in and offer him a new home.

Edwards concurred on the terms of a one-year deal and signed on the dotted line after passing a medical on Friday.

Edwards is looking forward to helping Oldham in League One next term.

"Boundary Park is a great venue, and the club has great ambition," he told the club's website. "I am delighted to be here.

"I just want to have a good pre-season, get myself sharp and get my crosses in. Basically feed the strikers to score the goals."

Full back Marc Tierney has signed a new deal at Boundary Park.

The defender has established himself under Moore and has been handed a two-year contract on improved terms.
