Darlington have terminated the contract of Dutch striker Clyde Wijnhard.Darlington have terminated the contract of Dutch striker Clyde Wijnhard.
The 31-year-old ends his year-long spell with The Quakers after reportedly breaching a number of club rules in recent weeks.
The former Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Preston North End and Oldham Athletic hit-man has 14 days to appeal Darlington's decision but the striker will likely need to find pastures new.
"Clyde will not be playing for the club any more, his future lies elsewhere," Hodgson told The Northern Echo.
"The decision has been made following discussions with Clyde and The PFA.
"It is in the best interests of Clyde and the football club that we part.
"It is disappointing that it's reached such a conclusion, but now Clyde has the chance to try his luck elsewhere.''
Blackpool are thought to have already made an approach for Wijnhard, while Mansfield Town have also been mentioned as potential suitors for the Dutchman.
