Plymouth Argyle manager Peter Reid admits it is 'difficult to say' which trialists will stay at Home Park after this summer.
The Home Park boss is monitoring Norwich's Owain Tudur Jones, American defender Laurent Manuel and Birmingham City's Irish goalkeeper Colin Doyle.
All three played in Monday's pre-season demolition of neighbours Saltash and, after taking advice from Welsh legend Ian Rush on the former striker's compatriot, Tudur Jones, Reid is deciding if he will offer any of the players a contract.
Reid told Argyle's
official website of Tudur Jones: "Ian Rush, who I know well, had a word with me about him and recommended him.
"So we're having a look at him to see if he likes us and we like him.
Finance
"I thought he did alright (against Saltash).
"We're having a look at Laurent, too. He's been injured but he was very determined.
"I'm just trying to balance the squad. It's difficult to say who I'm going to take on.
"There are certain things I've got in my mind and they will probably come to fruition in the next few days.
"Doyle has done terrifically well. I think it might all boil down to finance. I'd like him."
