Skysports.com understands Watford youngster Tom Aldred has joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle on a six-month loan deal.
The former Scotland U19 international will remain with Caley until at least Christmas.
It is possible that the agreement could be extended at that point should both sides show a willingness to do so.
The 20-year-old defender is highly regarded by Watford, but they feel his development would be better served away from Vicarage Road.
He took in a spell at Stockport County last season, making seven appearances for the Hatters.
