Former England striker praises attractive style of play

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has hinted he could join Blackpool in the next few days. The 36-year-old has been training with the Tangerines after a proposed move to the Indian Premier Soccer League failed to materialise. Fowler's performances in training have convinced Ian Holloway he could add another dimension to the promotion challengers. And it appears a short-term deal until the end of the campaign for the veteran marksman could be in the offing.

Respect

"I haven't kicked a ball for five or six weeks, so I'm a bit rusty, but my overall fitness is very good, and I've enjoyed working with the Blackpool lads," Fowler told the Daily Mirror. "I don't know what will happen, to be honest, I haven't had much time to think about it as I was only asked to go in and the club on Thursday." Holloway has developed a team that plays attractive form, which appeals to the former Manchester City and Leeds forward. "I have a lot of respect for Ian - he's a really decent guy and I admire the way his teams play football," he added. "If I can help out in any way then I'd love to get involved."
