The former Barnsley boss confirmed The Glovers had made an enquiry then a bid for the former Middlesbrough and Stoke City hit-man but the Somerset club's offer did not interest the Spotland manager.
"Yeovil made a phone call about Paul but it didn't interest me in the slightest," Parkin told the club's official website.
"His contract is up at the end of the season, but they weren't talking any kind of money the club would be interested in."
Meanwhile, Parkin has handed a trial to Frenchman Kendal Ucar this week.
Ucar was brought to The Dale on the recommendation from a fellow manager and is a defender.
He has played in Le Championnat with Sochaux before joining Greek outfit Ionikos last summer.
In addition, on-loan defender Martin Pemberton is unlikely to appear for the Third Division club again after suffering a back injury.
The Stockport County player needs at least a month's rest and that will likely rule him out of completing his loan at Spotland.
In other news, on-loan striker Andy Bishop has returned to Walsall after a two-month stint with The Dale while fellow hit-man Lee McEvilly has gone on loan to Conference club Accrington Stanley for four weeks.
