Johnson joy at fairytale

Gary Johnson believes Yeovil scripted a fairytale in being crowned champions.

Gary Johnson believes Yeovil Town scripted a fairytale in being crowned champions of League Two.

Yeovil's 3-0 success at home to Lincoln City on Saturday secured the West Country club the title and a place in League One.

For Glovers boss Johnson it is yet another chapter in a remarkable story that has seen the club clinch a spot in League One after just two seasons in the Football League.

Johnson was ecstatic with the title triumph and he could not contain his pride at the success achieved by his squad.

"This is such a fairytale story," beamed Johnson. "If it was a storyline for Footballers Wives you wouldn't believe it.

"I'm so proud of the lads because they've had to show so much mental character to stay top for so long."

Yeovil midfielder Paul Terry emulated his brother John in collecting a champion's medal and he was delighted to match the success of the Chelsea captain.

Terry said: "I don't know if two brothers have been presented with championship medals on the same day with different clubs before.

"I'm proud of what John has achieved at Chelsea and I know he's proud of me."
