Steve Thompson celebrated his first game in charge of Yeovil with a 1-0 over Swansea.
Steve Thompson celebrated his first game in permanent charge of Yeovil with a 1-0 over Swansea at Huish Park.
Terry Skiverton's goal seven minutes shy of half-time was enough to ensure Yeovil took maximum spoils against a Swansea side that tops League One.
Thompson has now taken nine points from a possible 12 since Gary Johnson's departure and is to be unveiled before the media on Monday morning.
Swansea are the division's top goalscorers but save for a Lee Trundle free-kick that drifted over on the hour mark, the Vetch Field outfit never looked like finding a leveller.
Skiverton's goal arrived on 34 minutes minutes when he netted from Lee Johnson's corner.
Swindon's miserable season continues after they fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Port Vale.
The managerless Robins took the lead in the 24th minute through Rory Fallon but Vale were level a minute before half-time when a Micky Bell free-kick was deflected home.
Vale needed just eight minutes to turn the tide entirely in their favour after the break, as Chris Cornes' netted his fourth since joining the club on-loan from Wolves, capitalising on a mix-up in the Swindon defence.
Walsall needed a last minute Julian Bennett goal to sneak a point in a 1-1 draw with MK Dons at the Bescot Stadium.
Danny Wilson's struggling Dons side had taken a 72nd lead through Gareth Edds but had to settle for a point courtesy of Bennett's leveller.
