Hall has attracted a wealth of interest from the top flight after shining at the heart of the Latics' rearguard.
Liverpool, Aston Villa, Blackburn and Middlesbrough have all been mooted as admirers of the talented 22-year-old.
But in handing Hall a contract until June 2005, the Second Division promotion chasers have declared their determination to hang onto the youngster's services.
"Discussions with the player's agent have been going on since before Christmas and we are pleased that we have been able to conclude an agreement that extends Fitz's contract by a further 12 months until June 2005," Latics chief executive Alan Hardy told the club's official website.
"There has been speculation about a host of Premiership clubs being interested in Fitz but I hope this move by the club demonstrates our desire to hold onto our better players in an effort to ensure our goal of promotion is achieved."
Hall has been hugely impressive since joining Oldham from Chesham United in March last year and Latics manager Iain Dowie is convinced the stylish stopper will ultimately play in the top flight.
Dowie enthused: "He is a player that has been at the heart of our recent success and I for one am in doubt that one day he will grace The Premiership."
