Oldham defender Mark Arber has rejected the chance to join former club Peterborough.Oldham defender Mark Arber has rejected the chance to join former club Peterborough after failing to agree personal terms.
The South African only arrived at Boundary Park, from The Posh, in the summer but has already been deemed surplus to requirements.
Arber has spent the past month on loan at London Road and impressed Barry Fry enough to be offered a permanent deal.
However, Arber has refused to take a pay cut and will now return to his parent club, who face Peterborough on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Rodney Jack could be out for the rest of this season if he requires surgery to cure a long-standing knee injury.
The pacey striker has been plagued by injury since joining Oldham from Rushden & Diamonds and now faces an uncertain future, as specialists deliberate on the best course of action.
In what has been a busy few weeks for the Lancashire outfit, it has been reported that former Manchester City striker Dorryl Proffitt, currently with Leek Town, has joined the club on trial.
