Bury manager Graham Barrow says striker Chris Porter is not joining Oldham Athletic.Bury manager Graham Barrow has made it clear that striker Chris Porter will not be joining Oldham Athletic.
The Gigg Lane boss made the reply after their North West rivals declared their interest in bringing the 21-year-old to Boundary Park.
Latics manager Ronnie Moore is keen to boost his attacking options and the club confirmed they had made a bid for Porter before Tuesday's home match with Brentford.
Barrow has since claimed that he has not received any official contact from their League One counterparts about the goalscorer and that they are looking to offer Porter a new deal.
"We are aware of Oldham's interest in Chris, but as far as I am concerned, there is absolutely no chance of him leaving," Barrow told the Bury Times.
"It would have been nice for their manager to ring me up and discuss it and it's a bit disappointing that they've chosen to go another route.
"Chris is one of the good young players we will be soon sitting down with regarding new contracts.
"It does show that teams are showing an interest in our players, so we must be doing something right."
Meanwhile, Basir Savage and David Moore have returned to parent clubs Reading and Wigan Athletic respectively following their month-long loan spells at Gigg Lane.
