Oldham will be without Steve Mildenhall for the closing games of the season.Oldham Athletic will be without goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall for the closing games of the season.
Mildenhall broke his hand during last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday and he will miss the rest of the season.
The shot-stopper had forced his way into the starting XI during the past month, having moved to Boundary Park from Notts County in December.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Latics boss Ronnie Moore concedes it is an ill-timed setback for Mildenhall.
"Steve has been unlucky because he waited for his chance and did reasonably well when he came into the side," said Moore
"I'll have to make a decision on his contract from what I've seen so far but it would be unfair to comment any further."
Mildenhall has encountered injury problems with his hand before after being forced to undergo an operation on a tendon in his thumb over 12 months ago while he was at Meadow Lane.
The 26-year-old's latest injury will provide Les Pogliacomi with the chance to stake another claim to be Oldham's number one during the final four matches of the League One campaign.
