Robins ace undergoes surgery on shin problem

Bristol City midfielder Brian Wilson has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury. Wilson has been forced to undergo surgery to solve a shin splints problem. The 25-year-old is yet to play this year with his last appearance coming in the win over Crystal Palace at the end of December. Robins boss Gary Johnson declared the surgery a success with the player hoping to return to training in pre-season. "It is good that we found out what the root of the problem was, a compartment syndrome and he's had to have his muscle released through surgery," Johnson told the club's official website. "It was quite aggressive surgery and he's had metal supports put down his shins. "He's had the best treatment, the best people have operated on him and they are happy with how it has gone."
