Johnson pleased with point

Oldham boss Lee Johnson was satisfied after his side collected a point from their final game of the season at Leyton Orient.

Jimmy Smith put the home side in front after 10 minutes but Kirk Millar levelled 50 seconds into the second half to earn the Latics a 1-1 draw and a deserved point at Brisbane Road. Johnson said the performance by his side left him with a lot of satisfaction. "I was really, really pleased with the team, when you look at the inexperience we had in our side compared to the very experienced side they had. I was delighted," said the fledgling manager. "In the first 30 minutes I thought that we were really good, I thought our back line was tremendous all game and I enjoyed watching our team. "Of course, there were bits and bobs that weren't that great but what do you expect from a side that was as young and as inexperienced as ours. "So I just give a big pat on the back to our side and say well done. "Orient scored with the first thing that they created. We got our equaliser right at the start of the second-half and I think we deserved it. We broke well, it was a good ball in by Cristian Montano and Kirk Millar finished it off. "I'm quite happy with the way we've ended the season. Defensively we looked well-organised with, as I say, a young side, and the young players will only get better. But I'm generally pleased all round. "The planning starts now for next season but there is a lot to be positive about with some of the young players that are coming through."
