U's sign Oli

Cambridge United have signed striker Dennis Oli to a one-month contract.

Cambridge United have signed striker Dennis Oli to a one-month contract after a successful trial spell with the League Two club.

The 20-year-old was one of five players released by Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season before spending a month with Swansea City this term.

Oli then joined Herve Renard's side for a trial and after impressing in Cambridge's reserves, the youngster will stay on for an initial four-week stay.

U's secretary Andrew Pincher is hoping the Abbey Stadium outfit can receive clearance to play Oli for Saturday's match with Mansfield Town.

"We have already lodged the contract with The Football League - subject to receiving the clearance," Pincher told the club's official website.

"Unlike Mbome last week, this time the FA concerned (Wales) is in the same time zone and speaks the same language, so I'd like to think we'll get it in time, but you never know."
