Marc Goodfellow's strike was enough to lift Swansea to a 1-0 win over Oxford.Marc Goodfellow's second-half strike was enough to lift Swansea City to a 1-0 win over Oxford United.
Oxford are struggling at the wrong end of the table and Goodfellow's goal on the hour condemned them to their 10th defeat of the season.
Conversely, The Swans are flying high and the win takes them up to second in the table.
The game was hard fought throughout but it turned on the hour when Jon Ashton was given his marching orders for felling Adrian Forbes.
From the resulting free kick, Goodfellow rubbed salt into the wound, as he bundled home after Kevin Nugent's header had been saved by Chris Tardif.
Boston United moved onto the fringe of the play-off picture with a 1-0 home win over struggling Rushden & Diamonds.
Danny Thomas scored the only goal of the game on 27 minutes, as he stepped in from the wing and flashed a shot into the top corner from 25 yards.
