Swansea City have signed Trinidad & Tobago World Cup star Dennis Lawrence.
Swansea City have signed Trinidad & Tobago World Cup star Dennis Lawrence from Welsh rivals Wrexham.
The 32-year-old heads south to join the League One club for an undisclosed fee, having signed a two-year contract with The Swans.
The tall centre back concurred on a deal with Swansea after watching the Wales versus Bulgaria friendly international at The Liberty Stadium on Tuesday evening.
He ends his time with The Dragons after making nearly 200 appearances for the League Two club following his move to The Racecourse Ground in February 2001.
"I'm delighted,'' Lawrence told Swansea's official website. "I was more than impressed with the stadium when I saw it for the first time last night.
"Obviously, I am sorry to leave Wrexham because I've enjoyed my five years at the club. The fans were brilliant to me.
"But at 32, this is a great move for me. It's a big club and a big challenge for me. I'm really looking forward to it.''
Lawrence will be available for Saturday's home clash with Doncaster Rovers and the news follows midfielder Andy Robinson's decision to sign a new contract with Swansea this week.
