Northampton Town striker Adebayo Akinfenwa is focused on playing for the Cobblers this season, after a return to former side Swansea City fell through last week.
The 27-year-old was tipped to rejoin the Swans with former strike partner Lee Trundle last week.
But talks broke down over the weekend and the powerful striker told skysports.com that despite it being a big opportunity for him, he is more than happy to stay at the Sixfields Stadium.
"Swansea did make contact with Northampton, so there was interest there, but I don't think anything will happen during this transfer window," he said.
"I did have some good very times there and they are doing exceptionally well in the Championship now and it would have been a great opportunity for me to show what I can do at that level because I've never played in the Championship, but it just wasn't my time.
"I'm enjoying myself at Northampton and I'm not trying to run out of the door, so I will continue to work hard for the club until I am told otherwise."
Akinfenwa is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, which he picked up in the victory over Bournemouth a few weeks ago, but he is hoping to be fit and raring to go for Friday's clash with high-flying Barnet.
He said: "I picked up a hamstring injury during the Bournemouth game and I got a kick on my shin as well, but it has settled down nicely now and hopefully I'll back into contention for Friday's clash with Barnet."
