Swans manager felt Allen's late sending-off was 'harsh'

Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers admitted defensive errors had cost his side as they went down to a 4-2 defeat to Blackburn at Ewood Park. Yakubu scored all four goals for the home side with Leroy Lita and Luke Moore replying for the visitors. And Rodgers felt his side failed to cope with the physical presence of Rovers' players. He told Sky Sports: "I thought that with the ball we were fantastic and controlled the game, and even defensively we had some great performances. "It was individually that cost us today after we made a couple of mistakes. Offensively, I thought we were great. "There were a lot of good points to take away from the game and we need to learn from the bad moments. "The score was very flattering to Blackburn, but fair play to them. They play a very direct game and stick the ball in the box using the very tall players they have and like I say we suffered from that. "We know our home form is very important to us." Rodgers described Joe Allen's late sending-off for a second bookable offence as 'very, very harsh', but had no complaints over the penalty given away by Neil Taylor. Rodgers added: "It was very, very harsh to get sent off. "Taylor's honest and he's tried to get back in on the goal side. He touches him but there's nothing to the contact really."
