Rodgers makes move for Donnelly

Skysports.com understands Swansea are one of three clubs to have bid for Northern Ireland hot-shot Rory Donnelly. The 19-year-old is attracting the interest of a host of clubs in England after netting 14 goals this season for Cliftonville. The Northern Ireland Under-21 international is regarded as one of the best young talents to emerge on the scene in recent years. The likes of Sunderland, Birmingham and Burnley have all been credited with an interest in Donnelly, but Swansea are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by making an offer for the forward. Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers travelled to his native Northern Ireland to watch Donnelly in action last week and he has now sanctioned a move for the player. Peterborough and Brentford are also thought to have tabled offers for Donnelly and the striker is expected to make the move to England in the New Year if one of his suitors agree a deal with Cliftonville.
