Swansea City manager Garry Monk expects new signing Jefferson Montero to be a Premier League hit this season.
The 24-year-old diminutive striker from Ecuador moved to Wales for £4m and Monk is excited at the prospect of Montero playing at the top level in England.
Monk told the South Wales Evening Post: "He showed glimpses of what he can do against Exeter (pre-season friendly).
The World Cup's been a great experience for him. If he can bring the momentum he's got from that into the Premier League it'll be great.
"If he brings that type of quality to the table, which we think he can do, and gets a little bit sharper he can do well for us.
"Pace always hurts teams. Anyone who's quick and has got half a brain about them can cause people problems.
"Jefferson's got very good pace and quality about him as well. And for a player who's so young he's got experience as well.
"Fitness-wise he isn't quite there. He's not as sharp as he can be but that will come with the more games he plays.
"He's a little bit behind some of the other boys, like Ki Sung-Yueng, because of the World Cup but they're catching up.
"The World Cup's been a great experience for him. If he can bring the momentum he's got from that into the Premier League it'll be great.
"I said from the start I wanted to create competition. That's my job. Everyone feels they're under pressure to perform. That's what all good football clubs do and that's what I'm trying to do."
