Carlisle have appointed Nigel Clibbens as the club's new chief executive.

The 48-year-old is to start his role at the Sky Bet League Two club on June 6, having previously worked at Huddersfield Town.

"I have been fortunate to be a part of a team that transformed my previous club both on and off the field and I am excited by this opportunity," Clibbens told Carlisle's official club website.

Chairman Andrew Jenkins added of the recruit who left Huddersfield in February: "Along with his knowledge and skills he will bring a fresh approach and new ideas which we recognise as important for the club as we continue to rebuild after the floods and look forward.
