Carlisle have signed defender Tom Parkes on a two-year deal after his departure from Leyton Orient at the end of the season.
Centre-half Parkes, 25, made 44 appearances last season for the Os, who were relegated from the Football League.
"He has good experience, he's a good communicator and he's come here very hungry to be part of the good things we want to achieve," Carlisle boss Keith Curle told the club's official website.
"We're all looking forward to working with him because we think he will have a positive impact on the group."
Parkes, 25, progressed through Leicester's academy and had loan spells with Burton, Yeovil and Bristol Rovers, who he went on to captain after his move was made permanent for an undisclosed fee in 2012, before joining Orient last summer.
