Carlisle United have granted midfielder Adam Murray's transfer request.
Carlisle United have granted midfielder Adam Murray's request to be placed on the transfer list.
The former Derby County, Notts County, Kidderminster Harriers and Mansfield Town player made the request after failing to appear in Carlisle's opening two games of the new season.
The 24-year-old, who joined The Cumbrians in March 2005, is not in the first-team reckoning with Neil McDonald's squad and with the transfer window set to close at the end of the month, the midfielder has chosen to find pastures new.
"He has handed in his written request, making it formal, so his name will now be circulated to other clubs," McDonald told Carlisle's official website.
"We will make it clear that a fee will be required and the he will not be allowed to go out on loan, or to go on loan with a view to signing.
"Until such time as he gets a move, he will not be involved in the first team, but in all other respects, he will be treated like any other player at the club.
"He will train like any other player and will, if required, be available for reserve games."
Murray's agent, Gino Culbertson, hopes to sort out a move for his client in the near future.
"Adam was told some time ago that he was not in the manager's plans," Culbertson told Sky Sports News.
"We hope we can arrange a move for him soon."
