Abbott takes aim at play-offs

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott believes his side's come-from-behind 2-1 win over promotion rivals MK Dons can fire their play-off bid.

Shaun Williams' 80th-minute penalty had seemingly put the Dons on course for victory but Jordan Cook netted a cool one-on-one and then a 90th-minute spot-kick to grab the win. "As a manager you need these type of games and they probably give you a message that you've got a fighting chance," said Abbott. "Things went our way then they didn't go our way, then they went our way - and it's against an absolutely top team. "We're happy with our victory but we've got to be humble in the way we speak to their people because they will be upset, it's an important time of the season for them. "But it's just a massive amount of credit to our fans, our players and our staff and everybody who has travelled down as part of our group. "It's an absolutely fantastic night for us and a platform for us to kick on again and try and grab that little spot that we've been chasing."
