Pollitt has red card overturned

ROTHERHAM have been handed a boost with the news that Mike Pollit's sending off against Derby has been rescinded.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper was controversially sent-off in last weekend's defeat at Derby after appearing to handle the ball outside his penalty area.

The Football Association reviewed the incident after Rotherham appealed the dismissal and they have found that the player did not commit a foul.

"The referee, Mr Dunn indicates that he feels the handling of the ball was inside the penalty area so we can confirm the sending off of your player for denying a goalscoring opportunity should not have been needed and, therefore, it has been decided that the sending off will not be recorded against the player or the club. This being so, no suspension will be imposed on Mr Pollitt," read a statement from the FA.

Meanwhile, The Millers have received enquiries for Mark Robins and Stewart Talbot.

Robins has turned down a move to Tranmere as he did not want to move, while Rotherham have rejected an approach from Bradford for Talbot.
