Ian Goodison and Theo Whitmore have signed new contracts.
Tranmere Rovers' Jamaican duo, Ian Goodison and Theo Whitmore, have decided to stay on at Prenton Park for another season.
Both players will stay at the Prenton Park for the 2005/06 season, subject to Tranmere obtaining work permits for them.
The Jamaican pair were key players for Tranmere in their quest to reach the play-offs last season, and Brian Little was full of praise for both players:
"The Jamaican lads have been outstanding," Little told the club's website. "Theo is unique. He has something which you can't buy very easily. His ability to turn things in a second is very important to us. He has the key to unlock things for us every now and again.
"Ian Goodison always has a go and never lets us down. He keeps good shape and discipline and is very popular."
The signatures of Goodison and Whitmore topped a good few days for Tranmere, who have also secured the services of key central midfielder, Mark Rankine, for another season.
Rankine's outstanding season for Tranmere had attracted a number of offers from other League One clubs, but the club's 'Player's Player of the Season' has accepted a one-year deal with Rovers.
And manager Little couldn't hide his delight at the extension of the 35 year-old's stay: "I'm delighted that Mark has agreed to stay at Tranmere.
"He had an excellent season and is a very popular player with both supporters and players."
