Little faith in Eugene

Brian Little has reassured Eugene Dadi that he has still has a role to play.

Tranmere boss Brian Little has reassured Eugene Dadi that he has still has a role to play at Prenton Park.

Dadi had looked likely to end his stay on Merseyside when he held talks with Norwegian outfit Aalesunds but a deal has failed to materialise despite extensive discussions.

Whilst Little cannot guarantee regular first team football, he does still believe that the striker could prove to be a useful player for his side this season.

''I understand it's finished - Eugene had plenty of time to chew it over and for whatever reason I don't think there had been an agreement reached,'' Little told the club's official website.

"He's working hard, and in fairness the only reason he's not in the team is the form of those ahead of him.

''The challenge is for Eugene to try to get into the group - it's there for him to fight for his place.

"I've picked the other fellas ahead of him, and at this moment in time there's no reason to change that, but Eugene - like any of our players - could never accuse us of freezing him out."
