Chester make final Ellison bid

Chester City have made a final offer to sign Tranmere Rovers winger Kevin Ellison.

Chester City have made a final offer to sign Tranmere Rovers winger Kevin Ellison.

The League Two club had an initial £15,000 bid rejected by Rovers and also saw a second offer rebuffed last week.

A third bid has now been lodged with Tranmere and Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan hopes it will be enough to persuade Rovers to sell Ellison.

"We have sent a final offer to Tranmere, and hopefully that bid will be accepted," Vaughan told the Evening Leader.

"But we will not exceed what we consider to be an extremely fair offer.

"Kevin Ellison is a player who Bobby Williamson considers would enhance our squad, so we have given it our best shot, and we can't do any more than that."
