Moore: Cup run can only help

Ronnie Moore believes Tranmere have the double incentive of securing a financial boost and some FA Cup magic this weekend.

Despite operating on a limited budget, Rovers remain at the League One summit heading into December and Moore feels overcoming Chesterfield and landing a plum third-round tie could lend further weight to their promotion push. He said: "We know this is a crucial week for us in the second round of the cup because we want to go as far as we can and that money comes back towards making the team better. "I suppose a lot of clubs at our level would like a Man United or an Arsenal away from home, but we'd like an Everton or a Liverpool or a Man United at home. If we can get a TV game and get a draw and go and get the rewards from that as well... "So anything can happen, that's what you dream about in the cup. That's why it's so exciting and the best competition in the world. "We know we aren't going to win it - you're going to be very, very lucky if a League One side wins the FA Cup with the teams that are about, but let's see how far we can go, let's enjoy it. It doesn't get in the way as far as I'm concerned."
