High praise for Lowe from Moore

Image: Ronnie Moore: Full of praise for Lowe

Ronnie Moore believes Ryan Lowe is playing like a man half his age after his double helped Tranmere to a 2-1 win over Colchester.

Lowe took his tally for the season to 12 goals in all competitions as she stooped to head home in the 32nd minute before converting from the penalty spot after 56 minutes. U's defender Brian Wilson was at fault for Lowe's penalty, bringing down Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro, before former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison netted an injury-time consolation for the visitors. Moore joked that Lowe is actually 25-years-old and not 35 as he made it five goals in his last three games. "I felt for Lowey because he had a really good chance for his hat-trick and he just couldn't quite connect with it," said Moore. "He is a key player and he will get goals off Kristoffer Peterson, there's no doubt about that. He will definitely get goals and if you put it in the right area, he will score - he's one of those players. "Ryan is a constant threat and he runs, chases and harries people. He's 35 but his fitness levels are like a 25-year-old. I'm sure he must be 25. "Overall, I have to be happy because we are moving in the right direction at this present time. It's a tight league and, with so many teams beating each other, it's going to go right to the wire. "The first goal in a game is always important and we were lucky enough to get it. You get greedy - at 2-0 you want to win 4-0 or 5-0 and we had a lot of chances."
