New Tranmere froward Eliot Richards is looking forward to getting started at the club, under a manager he has previously worked with.
Richards spent the second half of last season on loan at Exeter, where Rovers' new manager Rob Edwards was assistant. After the 22-year-old's contract expired at Bristol Rovers, the opportunity to link up with Edwards again was too good to resist. Richards told the club's official website: "I worked with him last season and learned a lot. I think I learned more down there [at Exeter] than I did at Bristol Rovers in the past couple of years. "I've been at Bristol since I was 16 so this is a big step but I think I needed a new challenge and hopefully I'll go on and prove myself. "As soon as I knew he'd got the job, I thought it was a great chance to come and work with him."The prospect of playing regularly at Prenton Park also excites the Pirates' academy product. "A couple of seasons ago when I was at Bristol Rovers I played here in what I think was the first game in charge for Stuart Campbell. We won 1-0 and hopefully I'll get a lot more wins here."
