Doncaster Rovers are hopeful of tying down deals for John Oster, James Hayter and Mark Wilson at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Manager Sean O'Driscoll is anxious to tie down his three big name players this week.
He told The Star: "Hopefully John Oster, Mark Wilson and James Hayter will be sorted, or some way to be sorted, sometime this week."
He continued: "You want to do the ones that you want to keep before you start bringing people in."
Adam Lockwood has already signed a new two-year deal with the club along with Neil Sullivan for a further year but O'Driscoll lost out on left-back Gareth Roberts, who will be joining Championship rivals Derby County.
The Rovers boss was delighted that veteran goalkeeper Sullivan signed a contract extention.
He said: "If you looked at Sully's age I'd probably have decided against offering him a new contract. But if you took his age out of the equation, and judged him on his performances, then you couldn't argue that he didn't warrant another year."
Rovers finished a respectable 12th position in the Championship after being one of the favourites for relegation at the start of the season and O'Driscoll now has ideas of improving his squad for next season.
The manager has targeted a number of areas for improvement during the summer and has travelled out to Slovenia to run the rule over a potential striker.
"The standard wasn't the best so you've got to consider if the player be able to step up to Championship standard," he explained.
"If we got the chance to have a look at him in pre-season we probably would. But we wouldn't do anything on the evidence of seeing him play over there."
