Millwall boss Neil Harris has heaped praise on Steve Morison after the veteran striker's winning goal in their League One play-off final against Bradford.
Morison struck the only goal of the game in the 85th minute at Wembley on Saturday to steer the Lions back in the Sky Bet Championship after two years away.
"If I need a hero, I've always got Steve Morison. The strikers have been the difference for us over the play-offs," Harris told Sky Sports.
"He's our talisman. At any football club you have to have the focus and he's the main man and the leader in the front line. He would be the first to admit he's not the best player on the pitch, but he's an integral part of how we play.
"We needed that moment of magic and, again, he's provided that today."
Harris was pleased with his entire squad after they bounced back from losing in last year's play-off final against Barnsley.
"I'm the most delighted about the character my squad have shown, not just today but throughout the season," he said.
"To bounce back from that defeat here last year and the difficult spells during this season shows the enormous spirit and camaraderie in the camp.
"At any stage of the season where we needed a performance or a moment, my players produced it."
There were ugly scenes at full-time as some Millwall fans streamed onto the pitch to celebrate their victory, with several even crossing into the Bradford half.
Harris admitted he would prefer not to see fans leaving their seats after games, but said it would not diminish his delight at achieving promotion.
"The fans came on in good spirit. We didn't want them to come on, but it was in good spirit.
"I don't condone people coming onto the pitch, and I apologise to Stuart and his players if they came [towards them]. I hope the fans came on in good nature, but it won't take away my joy tonight."
Harris is relishing the prospect of managing Millwall in the Championship next season, and says the club will take the right steps to ensure they're competitive.
"The Championship is a fantastic league which has moved on in the last 10 years with the amount of money in it," he said. "I've got a really good core of players and a good spirit, but we'll need to add new faces.
"We'll take the next few days to consider our options, but we'll certainly make sure we're competitive next year."
