The 20-year-old winger has already missed the start of the season for The Lions but faces another month out with the injury.
The Republic of Ireland man was close to a return to action for the Gillingham game last weekend but broke down in training.
Reid said he was gutted as he faced up to the prospect of spending yet more time on the sidelines.
"I was in the squad to play but its looking like I'll be out for another four weeks now," said Reid.
"I'm really gutted because I'm dying to play and it's been three weeks already now.
"But I'll have a scan on Thursday and hopefully it won't be too much longer."
Meanwhile, The Lions have signed young midfielder Alex Tiesse to professional forms with the New Den club.
The 17-year-old has been a regular in Millwall's Under-17 side and has appeared in the club's Under-19 squad.
Tiesse is considered a bright prospect for the future with Mark McGhee's side.
